Printed photovoltaic glass gives architects a graphic tool: patterns, textures or images can be applied to the panel while the solar cells behind keep producing electricity.
Denser or darker prints change how much light reaches the cells. Testing a few print densities on a sample panel is the simplest way to balance the intended image against the energy the facade is expected to deliver.
A print can run across several panels to form one large image, or repeat as a texture. Planning joints, panel sizes and the print layout together avoids broken motifs at the edges of each element.
Like the rest of the range, the panels are laminated safety glass for spandrels, cladding and other opaque parts of the envelope, mounted in common facade systems with the wiring hidden behind the glass.
